Roundhouse Community Centre Field Trip

I went to the Roundhouse Community Centre with my classmates yesterday. I went there by my car. It’s located in Yale town at the corner of Davie and Pacific.
It was built over 100 years ago, so it’s historical building. It used to be a train station.
There are celebrate diversity offer arts and health and fitness courses to people of all ages.
I was impressed how the historical building provides diversity for people to enjoy community. This field trip was very useful for me. There are volunteer opportunities for us and the membership cost is very reasonable and affordable. There are so many things we can learn from at the Roundhouse. Most of all I’m interested in learning Pickle ball. I’d like become a member and I’ll try next time.

Children's Festival volunteering

Our classmates went to Granville Island last Friday May 31st and the weather was really nice. We met in front of the KEG restaurant at 9 am. It’s located near the entrance to Granville Island.
First of all, we went together to the Volunteer House. We signed up and our volunteer shift began officially. After that, Ikue and I worked in the Face Painting booth with other volunteers where we helped children line up and get Tattoos. We removed the white protective cover sheet and carefully applied the tattoo face down on their hands. Each time we put tattoos on children's hands, they loved it. But one girl cried, which suprised us at first, but other than that, volunteering was amazing!
After three hours, we finished our shift. I was pleased to see children smile and hear them say thank you. I am looking forward to appying more volunteering.
